Scott MacDonald is Professor of Philosophy and Norma K. Regan Professor in Christian Studies at Cornell. He holds advanced degrees from the University of St. Andrews and Cornell. His research interests include medieval philosophy (especially Augustine and Aquinas), philosophical theology, and issues in moral psychology and the philosophy of action (especially those concerned with free will, moral responsibility, and practical reasoning). He has published widely in these areas and is currently at work on a book on Augustine’s Confessions.

Scott MacDonald is the Stanford H. Taylor ’50 Chair of the Sage School of Philosophy. He is also Dale R. Corson House Professor and Dean at Hans Bethe House on Cornell’s West Campus.
